Lana Marie Spangenberg, née Wright, is an Attorney-and-Counselor-at-Law and a member of the Texas Bar. As Of Counsel at MANNER SPANGENBERG, she assists clients in matters of international and US law. She places particular importance on effective legal writing, crafting of powerful arguments, and effective communication. Next to her Of Counsel role, Lana Marie Spangenberg teaches Dispute Resolution, US Business Law, and Legal Writing at Bucerius Law School and the Hamburg School of Business Administration.

Lana Marie Spangenberg received her Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law. During her legal studies she participated in the first international exchange semester at Bucerius Law School deepening her studies in international arbitration and business law. She also externed at The White House as well as the Lexington Legal Aid Office. After receiving her Juris Doctor, she was selected by the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung as a German Chancellor Scholar (Bundeskanzlerstipendiatin) where she was the Scholar-in-Residence at the Evangelisches Institut for Kirchenrecht an der Universität Potsdam.

Lana Marie Spangenberg clerked in the litigation departments of Strasburger & Price, LLP and West, Webb, Allbritton & Gentry, PC in addition to public interest and civil liberties work at Liberty Legal Institute. She researched and drafted an amicus brief filed in federal district court and assisted the Assistant Attorney General in research and preparation of the State of Texas’ defense in the Establishment Clause case, Van Orden v. Perry, which was later decided in the State’s favor by the Supreme Court of the United States.  

 

Lana Marie Spangenberg received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas A&M University, focusing on foreign policy decision making and foreign affairs.
