Matthias was the firm's first trainee (Referendar) back in 2019 and re-joined the firm as a full-time Associate on 1 March 2021. He hit the ground running, working on already familiar and new matters, and we are delighted to have him back on board!
Matthias specialises in dispute resolution, arbitration and litigation and is a true polyglot: he completed his legal traineeship in Hamburg with stations at the German embassy in Kuala Lumpur, a leading Dutch law firm in Amsterdam and the Hamburg Port Authority. He also interned at the Superior Court of California, San Francisco, and the German consulate in Atlanta, Georgia.
Matthias studied law in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands, where he obtained a LL.M. in Public International Law.
Matthias is an avid runner (undoubtedly the firm's fastest) and regularly runs with local Hamburg and Amsterdam running crews.
